Scope

This policy applies to the Excel Agent Chat Add-in service and related components (collectively, the “Service”). It does not cover unrelated products or marketing websites unless explicitly stated here.

Information We Collect

• Account & Profile Information. If you create or sign in to an account, we collect your name, email address, organization, and authentication identifiers.
• Chat & Usage Content. Messages you send to the agent, prompts, feedback, and interaction logs (such as commands issued or actions taken).
• Workbook & Add-in Data (with your permission). The App may access worksheet ranges, tables, cell values, formulas, charts, named items, and workbook metadata required to fulfill your requests. Access is limited to the scopes you grant through Excel and can be revoked at any time.
• Device & Diagnostics. Add-in version, Excel client and platform, language/locale, and technical event data (errors, performance metrics).
• Payment Information. If you purchase a subscription, billing details are processed by our payment provider; we receive limited information such as transaction IDs and status.

How We Use Information

• Provide, operate, and secure the Service, including executing agent actions in Excel you request.
• Process your prompts and workbook context to generate responses or perform operations you authorize.
• Improve quality, safety, and reliability (for example, debugging, analytics, and model evaluation).
• Communicate with you about updates, security alerts, and support.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Agent Actions in Excel

The agent acts only on your explicit requests and within Excel’s permission model. Typical actions include reading ranges, creating or editing tables and charts, inserting formulas, and formatting cells. The App does not access files or data outside the workbook(s) you select.

Processing & Sharing

• Processors. We use carefully selected service providers (e.g., cloud hosting, authentication, payments, analytics, and AI processing) to deliver the Service. These providers are bound by confidentiality and data-processing terms.
• Microsoft Excel & Microsoft 365. The App runs within Microsoft’s add-in framework and interacts with Excel per your instructions.
• Legal & Safety. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect you, us, or others from harm.
• No Selling of Personal Information. We do not sell personal information.

Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Where feasible, we de-identify or aggregate data.

Security

We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Your Choices & Rights

• Excel Permissions. You can revoke the App’s access to your workbook data at any time using Excel controls.
• Access, Correction, Deletion. You may request a copy of your personal information, ask us to correct inaccuracies, or delete your information, subject to legal exceptions.
• Opt-Outs. Where applicable, you may opt out of certain analytics or marketing communications.

International Transfers

We may process information on servers located outside your region. When we transfer personal information internationally, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses as required by law.

Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the age required by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App or by email. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent changes.
